Christine Picot, Ph.D.
Picot is an Assistant Professor of Instruction in the College of Education at the ²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµ Sarasota–Manatee campus. She teaches methods courses in mathematics, science and literacy, emphasizing content area literacy and STEM integration. She also supervises preservice teachers in field placements and internship seminars. Her research examines artificial intelligence in teacher education, puzzle-based reasoning as a tool for developing creativity and problem-solving confidence and literacy practices that support engagement in mathematics, science and STEM learning. Picot serves as Editor of Dimensions in Mathematics, the journal of the Florida Council of Teachers of Mathematics and is active on the FCTM Board. She also collaborates with international partners on puzzle-based reasoning research and grant-funded studies exploring AI-enhanced lesson planning and literacy in STEM classrooms.
