Qunshan Zheng, Ph.D.

Qunshan Zheng, Ph.D., is a dedicated early childhood researcher whose work strengthens screening, intervention and data-driven decision-making for young learners.

Zheng is a Research Assistant Professor at the School Mental Health Collaborative at the ²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµ. She earned her Ph.D. in Special Education, with a concentration in Early Childhood Studies and a minor in Research and Evaluation Methodology, from the University of Florida. Zheng’s research focuses on advancing early identification and intervention for young children’s developmental and learning needs. Her work centers on developing and validating user-centered tools for universal screening, progress monitoring and data-informed decision-making in early childhood education. She has led and contributed to Institute of Education Sciences–funded projects on professional development, social-emotional competence and measurement development. Through her research, Zheng aims to empower educators, families and other professionals to enhance teaching effectiveness, learning outcomes and children’s resilience.
