Do you have knowledge, skills, or a passion you’d like to share? OLLI instructors come from all backgrounds: retired professionals, academics, hobbyists, and lifelong learners. If you enjoy connecting with others and leading engaging conversations, we’d love to hear your ideas.
Who Teaches for OLLI?
Our instructors are a diverse group of members and community experts who enjoy sharing what they know. Some have teaching experience; many do not. What matters most is:
- A strong interest or experience in your topic
- A desire to engage adult learners
- Clear communication and enthusiasm
- If you bring curiosity and a willingness to guide others, you’re in the right place.
What Kind of Courses Can I Teach?

Nearly any topic that sparks curiosity is welcome at OLLI. Popular areas include:
- Arts & humanities
- History & culture
- Science, nature & current issues
- Technology & digital skills
- Writing, literature & languages
- Wellness, movement & mindfulness
- Local interest topics
- Hobbies, hands-on workshops & more
Courses can be a single session or multi-week series. We’ll work with you to shape a format that fits your topic and teaching style.
When Are Courses Offered?
OLLI offers classes year-round across three terms:
- Fall
- Winter/Spring
- Summer
Our team schedules courses several months in advance and will help you find the best placement for your idea.
Where Do Classes Meet?
Courses may be offered:
- In person at our various Tampa Bay partner locations
- Online through Zoom
- Or a mix of both
We’ll help you select the format that works best for you and your topic.
